Some people I know spend their whole lives yoyo dieting and this has been proven to be quite damaging for your health. However there are ways that you can lose weight in a week. I do need to warn you though, that a fair amount of this weight will just be water.

The most important thing for you to remember, is that you may put the weight back on fairly quickly. It usually takes a couple of weeks, before most of the weight that comes off, is fat.

One of the best ways to lose weight quickly, is to cut out all the junk food and anything with sugar in it. However, if you want to be even stricter, then cut down on all your “fast” carbohydrates to. Fast carbohydrates are foods with a high GI index (like white bread). Cut out all white foods, like white bread, white rice, white pasta, potatoes, flour and sugar. While cutting out on junk food and carbohydrates, you can eat all other foods normally –  Sugar and junk food trick your body to store more weight than the fullness you feel from them and they don’t contain nutrients that your body is in need of. That is why you should totally cut down on these foods.

Another thing that happens when you cut carbohydrates way down, is that any extra water stored in your body is released. You will find yourself going to the bathroom a lot. But you need to be very careful when you start something like this, as you can lose a lot of weight very quickly and you can feel really bad.

Because you are cutting down on these “evil” foods you  will be eating less calories even though you are eating all other foods in appropriate amounts. If you want to go one step further, you could eat even less of the other foods too. I don’t recommend that you go to the extreme though. If you eat too little, there is a risk that you 1. get sick and 2. get tempted to start binge eating from all the starvation and therefore ruin your whole plan. It is ok to eat slightly less of everything else apart from cutting down on carbohydrates and junk food, but I would not want you to risk your health and plan by going further than that.

Even if you can only afford to do this for one week, it will help you for the rest of your weight loss journey. What you learn from him or her in this week, you will be able to use for the rest of your life.

This buddy can exercise with you because exercise does so much more quickly when you have someone to chat with. You will also be accountable to someone, which really helps especially if you are both in it for the long haul.

Get together with your buddy and experiment with different cooking styles. Try out different spices and herbs to make your low-fat low-calorie foods taste wonderful. Go out together. Just because you are on a slimming diet doesn’t mean you have to stay at home constantly. The best weight loss strategies are ones where there is a complete lifestyle change. By finding places to go to, and still enjoying a social life while losing the pounds, can become a lifestyle change that you can live with forever. That way you will never have to worry about losing weight again.

Find a restaurant that is happy to serve you with low calorie or low fat foods. Most restaurants are easily able to offer you these solutions, with tasty and enjoyable options. If you get to know the chef they may even share the recipes with you. I really feel that giving yourself a weight loss buddy, will make such a huge difference in your weight loss quest.

Here is an interesting and fun way to lose weight in a week which you could try as an alternative to the first tip I gave in this post. This may not be a healthy choice, but it might work better for you because it is easier for you you to handle your emotions with this method. Weight loss is all about handling one’s emotions in the end (that is the hardest thing about weight loss). With this method you won’t feel deprived of any foods that you normally eat, because you are allowed to eat anything you like. In fact you can eat the same foods you ate yesterday if you want to. There is only one rule, and that is, you can only eat half.

How does that work? Well, if you ate two pieces of toast with jam on for breakfast yesterday, then today you would have one piece of toast with jam on. If you had a snack during the day of a chocolate bar, then today you would need to cut that chocolate bar in half and only eat half. You can choose to throw away the other half, or freeze it for tomorrow. Maybe you had three glasses of wine last night before you went to bed. Today you would only be allowed 1 1/2 glasses of wine.

It’s easy and fun, then you will lose weight in a week as long as you stick to the program. You will actually be cutting the calories, and the fat and the carbs and the protein in half. So your intake will be only half of what you usually eat. If you normally exercise, then you must do the same amount of exercise or more if you choose to. If you never exercise, then you don’t need to start.

Of course how much weight you lose will depend on how much you normally eat every day. By cutting the amount by half, you will see the pounds fall off as the week goes on. If you are used to huge calorie-intakes, then you could try only eating a third of what you normally do. Since this isn’t the healthiest choice to lose weight in a week, I recommend you don’t stick to this method for too long.

Keeping Yourself Organized Will Help you Stay on Track

One of the most important things to remember when wanting to lose weight, is to get yourself organized, so you don’t find that you’re grabbing food at the last minute and grabbing the wrong foods. It’s a good idea to spend a week before, cooking the foods you going to eat, putting them into containers and freezing them. Spend some time working out how to make your favorite foods fat free and low calorie because this will help you lose the weight and never put it on again.

Make Yourself a Busy Schedule With Things You Love to Do

Plan what you are going to occupy yourself with a week in advance and also replan every day once new ideas come. Be artistic, compose music, spend time with loved ones or something else that grabs your attention. If you are able to keep yourself in intensely occupied in activities that you love, it will make you leave out snacks and postpone meals. Boringness or the feeling of having no plan in life often causes people to snack on food.
